Abstract
This paper provides an extensive dataset for commercial 58 Ah prismatic NMC cells. The dataset comprises three types of data: characterization, ageing, and cell teardown. Characterization data include tests such as GITT, HPPC, and EIS, among others. Ageing data were obtained from 41 cells subjected to 38 distinct ageing conditions, including application-surrogate drive cycles. Recurring reference performance tests and EIS measurements track the evolution of each cell. Teardown data were obtained from pristine and aged (post-mortem) cells. They include material analyses and half-cell measurements. This single dataset supports analytics, model development (both machine-learning and physics-based), benchmarking, and techno-economic analysis. Several example analyses are carried out to show the usability of the data. For instance, the paper shows how lithium stripping can be detected from the voltage response of a short discharge applied after each charge. The data and the processing and analysis scripts are openly provided alongside this paper.
