Abstract
Aim. We try to understand the interaction of eccentricity tide and convection in icy satellites. Method. We use the numerical calculation of rotating convection with eccentricity tide in a spherical shell. Results. We have the following results. (1) Energy scaling exponent about buoyancy force (or tidal force) decreases with increasing tidal force (or buoyancy force). (2) The combined tide-convection flow is not identical to superposition of two pure flows in respect of energy spectrum. (3) Tide controls large-scale of fluid motion but convection is important for small scale, and the mode-mode transition occurs at intermediate scales. (4) Tide suppresses heat transport efficiency. (5) Dissipation of kinetic energy scales as square of tidal force with a very weak dependence on buoyancy force, which has little impact on dissipation but suppresses the tidal influence on dissipation.
