Programmable Unitary RF Networks for Narrowband Hybrid Beamforming
The paper proposes a hybrid beamforming architecture using programmable unitary RF networks that ensures power-preserving transport from RF chains to antenna ports under ideal conditions. This architecture achieves performance nearly identical to fully-digital systems while offering significant gains over conventional hybrid designs because its RF transport remains semi-unitary, unlike passive baselines.
