3D simulations of magnetospheric accretion in T Tauri stars: I. Disk truncation, stellar torques, and application to observations

This research uses 3D MHD simulations to model how accretion disks interact with tilted magnetospheres around young stars. The study found that accretion stability depends on the ratio of disk truncation radius to corotation radius ($R_t/R_{co}$). This ratio dictates whether the star experiences a spin-down or spin-up torque, helping predict the rotation evolution of Classical T Tauri stars.
