Superconducting orbital diode effect in SN bilayers

The study investigates how an in-plane magnetic field induces a nonreciprocal transport phenomenon called the superconducting diode effect (SDE) in diffusive superconductor–normal metal bilayers. It reveals that this asymmetry stems from orbital mechanisms caused by spatially varying superfluid density, leading to current-dependent kinetic inductance and critical supercurrent asymmetries.
