Researchers explored different mathematical ways to define quantum bit threads to calculate holographic entanglement entropy, aiming for a unified framework equivalent to the Quantum Extremal Surface formula. They developed strict, cutoff-independent flow prescriptions and linked these formulations to Entanglement Distribution Functions (EDFs), leading to the geometric object known as the entropohedron.
