Multilayer Evaluation of Vertiport Departure Directions Under Urban Obstacles and Wind
The framework evaluates every possible departure direction for eVTOL aircraft at a vertiport, considering different climb capabilities and urban obstacles. It identifies usable and preferred directions by scoring obstacle clearance against wind operability across multiple climb angle layers. The finding is that no single path is best; the optimal departure depends on balancing aircraft performance needs with site-specific obstacles and prevailing winds.
