Fractional 1/3 quantum vortices in chiral d+id kagome superconductors

The study investigated vortices in chiral d+id superconductors on a kagome lattice using microscopic calculations, motivated by experimental evidence of time-reversal symmetry breaking. The research found that fractional 1/3 quantum vortices permeate the ground state condensate. These vortices carry one-third of the superconducting flux quantum and their structure is tied to the three sublattice degrees of freedom of the kagome lattice, providing a microscopic explanation for observed phenomena.
