Flavor Conversion Enhances or Suppresses Supernova Explodability Independent of the Progenitor Mass

This study simulated core-collapse supernovae with different progenitor masses and tested how flavor conversion—a change in neutrino properties—affects shock revival. Findings show that flavor conversion can either increase or decrease explosion efficiency depending on where it occurs within the star, regardless of the star's mass or internal structure. This highlights a complex interplay between neutrino physics and stellar dynamics.
