Inverse Design of Integrated Photonic Components for Visible-Light Applications

The research developed an adjoint-based, fabrication-aware inverse design workflow for visible-light integrated photonic circuits. This method uses continuous topology optimization and a GPU-accelerated FDTD solver to design ultra-compact components like waveguides and multiplexers on silicon nitride. The results show the approach enables targeted control over light parameters across the entire visible spectrum with high efficiency.
