Optimal Resource Scaling for Early Fault Tolerant Iterative Quantum Phase Estimation under Cost Error Tradeoffs
The paper addresses how to best distribute a fixed experimental budget across multiple iterations of Iterative Quantum Phase Estimation (IPEA) to maximize the chance of correctly estimating an L-bit phase. It finds that optimal shot allocation depends on whether the total budget is much larger or smaller than the expected noise level for each iteration.
