Fractional power-law decay in the spontaneous emission of a two-level system

This study investigates how a two-level quantum system decays when coupled to an environment with a specific energy spectrum. It found that in the short-time regime, decay follows a fractional power law instead of simple exponential decay. This leads to an 'anomalous quantum Zeno effect' where the characteristic time scale for stopping the decay is governed by this new fractional scaling.
