On the Distortion of Partitioning Performance by Random Quantum Circuits
The study tested how different hypergraph partitioning strategies perform when evaluated against three types of quantum circuits: real algorithmic, structured generated, and fully random circuits. Results show that random circuits significantly distort performance metrics like communication cost and strategy rankings. Structured generated circuits provide a much more faithful assessment of partitioner quality than random benchmarks.
