Scale-covariant spiking wavelets
The work connects wavelet transforms to spiking neural networks using scale-space theory. Researchers showed that leaky integrate-and-fire neurons can be used to create discrete mother wavelets that approximate continuous ones. Experiments confirm this feasibility, suggesting a new way to represent signals with spiking activity, potentially leading to more energy-efficient signal processing algorithms.
