Infrared-Selected Active Galactic Nuclei in the Kepler Fields

Researchers used infrared selection techniques and ground-based spectroscopy to identify and characterize Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) candidates monitored by Kepler missions. They confirmed 186 AGN candidates, showing that these IR-selected AGN have line and continuum properties consistent with those found using traditional optical methods, proving the reliability of the infrared selection technique.
