Tracking flat bands via phonon-mediated interband scattering

The research uses temperature-dependent electrical resistivity to locate flat bands (FB) near the Fermi level by attributing scattering to electron-phonon interactions. A phenomenological model based on Boltzmann transport theory shows that the position of the FB relative to the Fermi level dictates specific sub- or superlinear resistivity behaviors at high temperatures, allowing for efficient tracking of these states across various materials.
