Demonstration of tripartite cat states in two distinct classes of entanglement
Researchers experimentally created two different types of three-mode entangled cat states, GHZ-cat and W-cat, using three microwave resonators linked to a superconducting transmon. The work confirms these states exist in the continuous variable regime and shows that the W-cat state retains bipartite entanglement while the GHZ-cat state does not. This provides a testbed for studying complex many-body entanglement.
