High Coupling Tunable Acoustic Resonators in Monolithic Barium Titanate

Researchers created tunable acoustic resonators using epitaxial barium titanate (BTO) grown on silicon. By applying a DC bias, they control ferroelectric domains to tune resonance near 700 MHz, achieving high electromechanical coupling up to 25.1%. This platform uses a multi-cell architecture and material modeling to predict behavior, offering reconfigurable front ends with reduced components.
