Bulk-dissociated topological bands without spin-orbit coupling in hetero-dimensional superconducting metamaterials
The study theoretically investigates a square superconducting network decorated with magnetic adatoms to create a weak topological superconducting phase without needing spin-orbit coupling. By tuning the Fermi energy, researchers showed a transition from this weak phase to a bulk-dissociated topological phase where edge bands separate from the bulk, leading to nodal lines and unique corner modes. This demonstrates how hetero-dimensional metamaterials can be used to control electronic properties.
