Novel geometrical test of cosmological expansion from photometric data

Researchers developed a method using tomographic cosmic-shear observations and the Bernardeau-Nishimichi-Taruya (BNT) transform to create weak lensing maps that ignore contributions from low-redshift lenses. This geometrical test is independent of matter distribution properties, allowing for constraints on the dark energy equation of state by probing cosmological background evolution at large scales.
