Dynamical Hubbard approach to correlated materials: the case of transition-metal monoxides

This work introduces a novel dynamical Hubbard functional to describe electronic correlations in transition-metal monoxides like MnO, FeO, CoO, and NiO. The method successfully captures all correlated-electron signatures—like gap opening and spectral weight transfer—in excellent agreement with experimental PES/IPES data and advanced DFT+DMFT results.
