Neutron star cooling with dUrca processes

The study incorporated neutrino emission from Delta direct Urca processes into neutron star cooling simulations for the first time. The results show that these processes act as an efficient cooling mechanism, significantly accelerating thermal evolution and potentially explaining unusually low surface temperatures observed in massive neutron stars.
