A high-entropy form of R Mn 6 Sn 6 with distinct magnetotransport regimes correlated to different magnetic structures

The study investigated a rare-earth mix of Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, and Lu in RMn6Sn6 to understand its magnetic phases and transport properties. It found a sequence of transitions: paramagnet to easy-plane ferrimagnet (FiM) below 380 K, then easy-axis FiM at 207 K, and finally a canted FiM ground state below 79 K. This reveals complex spin textures driven by rare-earth coupling that cause nonmonotonic magnetoresistance.
