Physics-informed extreme learning machine for Terzaghi consolidation problems and interpretation of coefficient of consolidation based on CPTu data

This study tests a Physics-Informed Extreme Learning Machine (PIELM) to solve Terzaghi consolidation equations and interpret soil properties from piezocone penetration tests (CPTu). PIELM uses an extreme learning machine instead of traditional neural networks, showing faster training times and accurate prediction of pore water pressure evolution. It also successfully infers the coefficient of consolidation from CPTu data without needing known initial conditions.
