ALMA2040: Mapping the Spatially Resolved Dust and Star Formation Physics Driving High-z Galaxy Assembly
ALMA2040 aims to revolutionize high-redshift galaxy studies by measuring radial dust temperature gradients with 0.5-4 K precision across hundreds of galaxies. This will break degeneracies between dust mass and heating, providing the first extinction-free, temperature-calibrated star formation relations and tracing how radiative feedback shapes galaxy assembly from cosmic noon to dawn.
