High-quality single photons from cavity-enhanced biexciton-to-exciton transition
The study uses resonant two-photon excitation of a semiconductor quantum dot's biexciton state followed by single photon emission from a cavity-enhanced biexciton-to-exciton transition. This method successfully generates high-quality single photons, with purity and indistinguishability competitive with established sources, without needing complex post-processing or systematic optimization.
