A first look at the protoplanet WISPIT 2 b with VLTI/GRAVITY+
New GRAVITY+ observations confirmed WISPIT 2 b as a self-luminous planet inside its host star's transitional disk, about 60 AU away. The study determined its temperature is between 900 and 1300 K, favoring atmospheric models with clouds over pure blackbody emission. Further observations are needed to fully characterize the atmosphere.
