Inflationary Particle Production and the Swampland
The study investigates how an infinite tower of light particles, whose masses decrease exponentially along inflation due to string theory and the Swampland Distance Conjecture (SDC), affects inflationary predictions. The key finding is that in weakly coupled cosmological theories, these tower contributions are suppressed relative to standard single-field predictions. This means the inflationary phenomenology remains essentially unchanged unless the system approaches quantum gravity scales.
