Algebraic localization of Wannier functions implies Chern triviality in non-periodic insulators
The paper investigates non-periodic gapped systems to determine when a projection has a vanishing Chern marker. It proves that if a projection admits an (1 + δ)-localized generalized Wannier basis for some $\delta > 0$, its Chern marker must vanish. This extends previous results by linking the spatial localization properties of basis functions to topological triviality in these systems.
