Superconductivity in a Bulk Moire Superlattice Material

Researchers investigated bulk moiré crystals of (Sr6TaS8)1+δ(TaS2)8 under ambient pressure to find emergent electronic states. They found bulk superconductivity at a transition temperature of Tc = 2.5 K, confirmed by transport and magnetic susceptibility measurements on single crystals. This discovery establishes superconductivity as an emergent phase in intrinsically synthesized bulk moiré materials.
