JADES: Evolution of nitrogen abundances in star-forming galaxies from z 1.5-7

Researchers used JWST data to study nitrogen abundance ratios (N/O) in 588 star-forming galaxies between redshifts z=1.5 and z=7. Findings show that these ratios are significantly higher than in local galaxies, especially in low-metallicity systems. The study identifies a continuous distribution of nitrogen enhancements rather than discrete populations.
