Search for Compact Binary Coalescences with Sub-solar Mass Components in Data from the Second Part of LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA's Fourth Observing Run
This research searched gravitational wave data from LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA for compact binary mergers involving at least one sub-solar mass component (SSM). No statistically significant detections were found, though two specific outlier events were identified by individual pipelines. The study establishes upper limits on the merger rates of SSM black holes and neutron stars, which are then used to constrain potential dark matter scenarios.
