Symmetry-Dependent Polarity Reversal of Bulk Spin-Orbit Torque in Single-Layer MnCoGa
The study investigated how lattice distortion in a single-layer MnCoGa film affects spin-orbit torque (SOT) polarity. They found that thickness-dependent structural symmetry breaking causes a reversal in SOT polarity, meaning the direction of the induced magnetization switching changes as the film gets thicker. This demonstrates that structural symmetry is a critical factor for controlling bulk SOT.
