Surface-extended Andreev bound states emerging from intrinsic surface superconductivity of PtBi 2
PtBi2 exhibits a sizable superconducting gap that is remarkably uniform across many length scales. This study visualizes spatially extended Andreev bound states (ABSs) within this gap, revealing an anisotropic chiral pairing symmetry in the material. These findings suggest PtBi2 is a promising platform for studying exotic topological superconductivity and Majorana physics.
