Parity- and Chirality-Selected Dirac Masses in Hybrid Moir'e--1D Superlattices

Researchers used a hybrid moiré–1D superlattice to electrically control which mass channel opens at charge neutrality in twisted bilayer graphene. They found a rule: odd harmonics select same-chirality pairs, while even harmonics select opposite-chirality pairs. This allows for switching the mass channel by reversing the 1D modulation's transverse velocity.
