Fluctuation-Induced Supersolidity at the Superfluid-Solid Interface
The study investigates how mode coupling at a superfluid-solid interface can induce a transition to a supersolid state without changing bulk interactions. By modeling the interaction between superfluid density fluctuations and solid phonons, researchers found that strong interfacial coupling drives an instability leading to density modulation. This mechanism offers a new route to creating hybrid phases by tuning boundary conditions.
