Revisiting the CMB homogeneity scale: low multipoles removal effect and extragalactic foreground masking
The study investigated tensions between Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) observations and standard Lambda Cold Dark Matter ($\Lambda$CDM) predictions regarding the homogeneity scale. By removing low multipoles, especially the quadrupole, from both data and models, consistency significantly improved. The findings suggest that this tension is primarily caused by the low CMB quadrupole value rather than extragalactic foregrounds or galaxy masking.
