Effects of Viscosity on Sloshing Cold Fronts in Galaxy Clusters
This study used 3D simulations to test how different models of ICM viscosity and magnetic fields affect Kelvin–Helmholtz instabilities in sloshing cold fronts within galaxy clusters. Results show that both viscosity and magnetic fields stabilize these fronts, with isotropic Spitzer viscosity being highly effective. The findings suggest that high plasma beta ($eta$) cases are primarily stabilized by viscosity rather than magnetic tension.
