Numerical simulations of low-mass black hole-neutron star mergers with moderate eccentricities

Researchers simulated low-mass black hole-neutron star mergers with eccentric orbits five times larger than those seen in GW200105 to test waveform models. They found that eccentricity has little effect on remnant black hole properties but can slightly alter disk mass and accretion rates for Type B systems. The study also investigated how strong magnetic fields affect trapped g-mode oscillations.
