Agentic AI -- Physicist Collaboration in Experimental Particle Physics: A Proof-of-Concept Measurement with LEP Open Data
An AI agent collaboration used Anthropic Claude and OpenAI Codex to perform an agentic measurement of thrust distribution in $e^+e^-$ collisions at 91.2 GeV using archived ALEPH data. The process involved the agents writing and executing analysis code, resulting in a fully corrected thrust spectrum that agrees with published results, demonstrating AI's role as a tool for precision physics.
