Specific-heat anomaly in frustrated magnets with vacancy defects
The study investigates how vacancy defects affect frustrated magnets by analyzing their thermodynamics. Vacancies constrain bulk spins at low temperatures, which are relaxed as temperature increases, leading to an entropy increase and a peak in heat capacity $C(T)$ at a characteristic temperature $T_{ ext{imp}}$. Analytical calculations confirm this peak occurs around $T_{ ext{imp}} = -4J/ ext{ln } n_{ ext{imp}}$, where $J$ is the coupling strength and $n_{ ext{imp}}$ is the vacancy fraction.
