Fermi-pressure-assisted superradiant transition with a mesoscopic Fermi gas in a cavity

This study investigated cavity-induced superradiance in a mesoscopic Fermi gas, finding a non-monotonic threshold dependent on density. It revealed that Fermi pressure and Pauli blocking effects interact to suppress light scattering, allowing observation of an uncharted regime between few atoms and bulk gases. This demonstrates how quantum statistics can influence light-matter coupling in cold quantum gases.
