Extracting the Central Sound Speed of Neutron Stars through Intrinsic Stellar Structure Scaling with Reduced Equation-of-State Model Dependence
The research developed an estimator (IPAD-TOV) to find a robust central sound speed squared ($s^2_c$) in neutron stars without needing a specific Equation of State (EOS). By comparing many different EOS models, the method found a common value of $s^2_c ext{ } ilde{ u} 0.523$, suggesting the inner core is relatively stiff and independent of the exact high-density model used.
