Size and Shape of Fuzzy Spheres from Matrix/Membrane Correspondence

The study uses a regularized SU(N=2) matrix model to investigate ground state fuzzy spheres in D=(1+3) dimensions. The results show that when projected onto the transverse plane, these spheres appear as ellipses. By calculating geometric constants like area, perimeter, and eccentricity using analytical approximations and numerical simulations, the research reveals how quantum membrane configurations deviate significantly from classical geometry.
