LSST and Keck characterization of outer Main Belt comet P/2026 N2
The study characterized comet P/2026 N2 using LSST and Keck observations over 102 days, showing sustained activity across perihelion. Optical measurements of brightness and a(0◦)f ρ were consistent pre- and post-perihelion, suggesting prolonged or recurrent dust production. This supports the hypothesis that volatile sublimation sustains activity near perihelion.
