Testing the BH* model: A UV-to-optical spectral fitting of The Cliff

The study tested the Black Hole Star (BH*) model by fitting JWST data of The Cliff galaxy's UV-to-optical spectrum using a customized Bagpipes code. The results strongly support the BH* scenario, showing that a low-mass host galaxy with moderate dust attenuation and a blackbody envelope fits the data well. This suggests LRDs are accreting BHs surrounded by dense gas.
