The ALMA-QUARKS Survey. IV. Core Mass Function and Evolutionary Trends in Core Formation Efficiency and Chemistry
The ALMA-QUARKS survey systematically analyzed dense cores in massive protocluster environments using ALMA observations at 1.3 mm. It found a relatively flat high-mass slope for the core mass function ($\gamma = 0.98 \pm 0.03$) and showed that core formation efficiency increases with the luminosity-to-mass ratio of parent clumps, indicating mass concentration over time.
