Looking for WIMPs through the neutrino fogs

The sensitivity of large xenon detectors to WIMPs is limited by neutrino backgrounds, specifically atmospheric nuclear recoils and solar electron recoils. A realistic simulation showed that electron-recoil neutrino events remain significant even for high WIMP signal rates, challenging simplified exclusion methods. The analysis demonstrates that 50 tonne-year exposure can exclude all zero hypercharge WIMPs, while complex ones require similar exposure to probe their parameter space.
