Learning Cross-Model Activation Alignments with Explicit Many-to-Many Layer Maps
The research introduced MATCHA, a method to learn explicit mappings between layer activations of two different Large Language Models. MATCHA discovered that these alignments are not simple one-to-one connections but complex, input-dependent many-to-many relationships. This allows for high-fidelity transfer of knowledge and behavioral interventions between models with low latency.
