Current-driven reduction of topological protection in multichannel superconductors
The study investigated how a finite charge current affects topological phases in a Kitaev ladder, showing that its two-mode topological protection is fragile. The current breaks time-reversal symmetry, reducing the system's classification from BDI class to D class and suppressing higher topological sectors. This demonstrates that measurement or injection processes can qualitatively modify topological protection.
